Ellensbrook at Mokidup is nestled in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park in the lee of one of most spectacular coastal dunes of the rugged, western-facing coastline of Wadandi Country.

The grounds at Ellensbrook are open daily. Enjoy a picnic by the brook, take a stroll to the beach or along Meekadariby walk through the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park.

Make a booking

Thursday to Saturday

The homestead is open Thursday to Saturday between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Your ticket is valid anytime during opening hours. Explore the 1857 homestead and learn more about the life of the Bussells and their relationships with the Wadandi people, whose long-standing connection to Mokidup is reflected in the site interpretation. Last entry at 3.30 pm.  

Sundays and public holidays

On Sundays and public holidays you can book a one-hour guided site tour from 10.30 am. Discover how the natural features of the landscape made life possible at this remote location. Take a self-guided tour of the house to delve deeper into the stories throughout the award-winning interpretation. Tours are very personal and can often be tailored to the interests of the group.

Please note: 

  • If you buy a member or concession ticket, you must show your proof of concession or membership card upon arrival
  • Family tickets are for two adults and two children aged 5 to 17.

Accessibility

The National Trust is committed to providing access to all visitors to its places, however, the house at Ellensbrook is not easily accessible via wheelchair. Uneven floors, low and narrow entrances to rooms in this historic house may prove difficult for wheelchair access. For any accessibility inquiries please contact us directly via trust@ntwa.com.au or call 08 9321 6088 to make arrangements prior to booking.

Refund policy

We do not provide refunds on tickets for a change of mind. If you need to reschedule your visit we are happy to do arrange this for you. Please contact trust@ntwa.com.au to arrange a new date.

Extreme heat closures

Please note, Ellensbrook will close if the Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Margaret River is for 38 degrees or above. You will be able to use your tickets on another day or request a refund.
